The Best Restaurants in Torrance
September 21, 2016 10:04 amFrom classic American fare to elegant Asian cuisine, Torrance has its fair share of excellent restaurants that will certainly satisfy anyone’s appetite. Here are some of the best restaurants in Torrance:
Santouka Ramen – This chain originated from Hokkaido, Japan, where the very first Santouka Ramen opened in 1988 with only one item in the menu and 9 seats. Today, Santouka Ramen has multiple branches across Japan and in 9 countries, not bad for a place that continues to serve meltingly tender Cha-Shu pork in a heavenly broth of noodles. Not the most atmospheric of places, but the noodles are inexpensive and filling.
Maruhide Uni Club – As its name implies, uni or sea urchin is the featured ingredient in most of this restaurant’s dishes. Don’t expect a fine dining setting but instead, focus on the freshness of the food and the service.
Depot – Featuring eclectic cuisine that takes its influences from Classical to German, Austrian, contemporary Scandinavian, pan-Asian, and Mexican to American, Depot’s imaginative dishes and unique setting all combine into one exceptional dining experience.
Restaurant Christine – Chef Christine Brown infuses cuisines she experienced while traveling throughout Europe with the unforgettable flavors of the Pacific Rim, all served in a warm, inviting setting reminiscent of a Tuscan villa.
Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que – Enjoy down-home Southern cooking in this barbecue chain with its generous and tasty servings. The casual ambience is definitely not fine dining, but the dishes are satisfying and the setting is memorable.
Musha – Japanese cuisine seems to be a favorite at Torrance, and Musha is another of those restaurants in the area, with food uniquely prepared; try their risotto served in a huge Parmesan cheese block, for starters. The vibrant atmosphere will make you feel like you’re in Tokyo.
Buffalo Fire Department – Uniquely named not only for its firehouse themed decor, but also for its menu of Burgers, Fries and Drinks (BFD, get it?), this restaurant owned by Chef Michael Shafer of Depot, which is just across the street, serves American classics in delicious variations, making it a winner for most diners.
